About the Sea Urchin

Sea urchins or urchins are small, spiny, globular animals which,with their close kin, such as sea cucumbers,sea stars,sand dollars, constitute the class Echinoidea of the echinoderm phylum. They inhabit all oceans. Their shell, or "test", is round and spiny, typically from 3 to 10 centimetres (1.2 to3.9 in) across.To move around coral reefs and rocks, sea urchins use spines in conjunction with tube feet on their bottom side as stilts. Most sea urchins that wash up on shore consist of only their shell, which is often sold in souvenir shops.About 700 sea urchin species are known throughout the world.
The Sea urchin's body is made up of five radial segments and develops a calcareous skeleton which protects and holds 'Aristotle's lantern', the intestines and the gonads. Just before reproduction,these gonads swell up to fill the whole shell. These gonads are very much sought after by the reef fishes that feed on the creature.They are the rich, yellow, paste-like, strong odoured and is served as a delicacy which is often used to top sushi in Japanese restaurants. The delicacy is called 'uni' in Japanese.

The sea urchin is mounted on an antique bronze electroplated  filigree, necklace is made of

antique bronze cable chain with carved texture.

Corculum Cardissa or 'Heart Cockles' are beautiful heart shaped shells.It looks great wearing as

necklace.These are natural seashells ,they may have minor wear and variances,i have file the edges so its blunt and safe to wear :)

Little ones asked me why there is no rainbow outside our house, i told her rainbow is not always there ,then she asked again "Friday? Saturday?" ...........i wish i know. Hope this colourful caterpillar reminds her of rainbow :)

加了珍珠，增加了它的独特美。。

一直很喜欢海胆的独特外形，很美。终于在千里遥遥的台湾带了几个会来，把它们作成了项链。
Always admire the unique outlook of the sea urchin, finally got few back from Taiwan-the far away beautiful country. Make them into necklace and still loving them :)

Little something for my little ones

I always believe colourful stuff are good for kids, cheerful and attractive.
馨馨四岁了，加减乘除只学了加，弄了这个小玩意儿以增加她对学习的乐趣。她很爱吃，会自己开冰箱找吃的，所以放在冰箱的门外，每一次要开冰箱，就得答对一题。。蛮有用的。

Haven't give her a name..just love looking at her long eye lashes,because i never know how to put one for my own.

what a day......

Light box

The windows at home are all tinted, i'm not able to get good sunlight for tracing.So,I made this light box today for tracing purpose.As what happened with the plate? Its because i couldn't find anything suitable and available at home to put on top as working surface. Bulb is too hot and will melt the plastic,even the hard one.So, i saw this when having dinner-glass,transparent,hard...a  good surface. :)

Addiction

I am crazily addicted in making clothes and accessories for barbie recently, and this was one of the coat i sew with felt fabric which i like the most. It reminds me of one of my best friend who is now in Australia, wish i was capable of sewing her a coat to keep her warm.
